In The Vocation of Man, Johann Fichte talks about two worlds; a visible world and an invisible incomprehensible world. The two worlds are brought together by your will, claims Fichte. He then goes on to say, "the present life, in relation to a future one, is a life in faith"(97). "The other life, in relation to the consequences of our good will in the present one, will therefore be a life of seeing" (97). Fichte is saying that our current life, right now is our "existence" and the other life, also known as "the future life is the continuation of this existence" (98). Fichte believes that we need to have faith in our lives and think about the future, for it is a life of seeing.
"If what these people say were true then the ultimate purpose of our existence would be down here on earth; human nature would be fully exhausted and thoroughly explainable by our earthly vocation, and there would be no rational reason for extending our thoughts beyond the present life" (101). If we have faith in life, then there is no need to think about our existence in the future life. Live for the moment and time we have. There is no need to rush the future, take it slow and have faith as you go. If you have faith in God, He will guide you along the right path and make sure you do not get lost in your journey.
